Personal data
Personal data is information about you. This includes your name, address, and e-mail address. You do not have to disclose any personal data to visit our website. In some cases, we require your name and address as well as other information in order to provide the requested service.

The same applies if we provide you with information upon request or when we reply to your inquiries. In suchlike case, we will generally inform you accordingly. Moreover, we only store data that you have provided to us automatically or voluntarily.

When you use one of our services, we generally only collect the data necessary to provide you with our service. We may ask you for additional information, which is voluntary, however. Whenever we process personal data, we do so to provide our services or to pursue commercial objectives.

Automatically stored data
Server log files

The website provider automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These include:

• Date and time of the request
• Name of requested file
• Page from which the file was requested
• Access status (file transmitted, file not found, etc.)
• Web browser and operating system used
• Full IP address of the accessing computer
• Transmitted data volume

This data will not be merged with other data sources. Processing is carried out in accordance with Section 6 (1) (f) GDPR based on our legitimate interest in improving the reliability and functionality of our website.

For reasons of technical security, in particular to prevent attempted attacks on our web server, said data is stored temporarily. We are unable to identify individuals based on this data. The data is also processed in anonymized form for statistical purposes; it will not be compared with other databases or shared with third parties, not even as extracts. The number of page views will merely be presented as part of our server statistics.

Cookies
When you visit our website, we may store information on your computer in the form of cookies. Cookies are small files that are transferred from an internet server to your browser and are stored on your hard drive. Only the internet protocol address –no personal data – is stored. The information stored by cookies enables us to automatically identify you the next time you visit our website, making it easier for you to use. Of course, you can also visit our website without accepting cookies. If you do not want your computer to be recognized the next time you visit, you may decline the use of cookies by changing the settings in your browser to “Reject cookies”. Please refer to your browser’s operating instructions to learn more about how to adjust the respective settings. However, if you decline the use of cookies, however, the functionality of some aspects of our website might be limited.

COOKIEFIRST
We use cookies to ensure that our website functions properly. In order to obtain your valid consent to the use and storage of cookies in the browser you use to access our website and to properly document this, we use a consent management platform: CookieFirst

This technology is provided by Digital Data Solutions BV, Plantage Middenlaan 42a, 1018 DH, Amsterdam, Netherlands. Website: https://cookiefirst.com, referred to as CookieFirst.

When you access our website, a connection is established with the CookieFirst server so that we can obtain your valid consent to the use of certain cookies. CookieFirst then stores a cookie in your browser to enable only the cookies you have consented to and to properly document this. The processed data will be stored until the specified retention period expires or you request the deletion of the data. In some cases, certain statutory retention periods may apply.

CookieFirst is used to obtain the legally required consent to the use of cookies. The respective legal basis is Section 6 (1) (a) of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Google Analytics with Anonymization Function

We use Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA, hereinafter referred to as “Google”. Google Analytics uses so-called “cookies”, which are text files stored on your computer, to help analyze your use of the website.

The information generated by these cookies (such as the time, location, and frequency of your website visit, including your IP address) is transmitted to and stored by Google in the US. On our website, we use Google Analytics with the suffix “_gat._anonymizeIp”. Therefore, your IP address will be shortened and anonymized by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area.

Google will use this information to analyze your use of our website, to compile reports on website activity for us, and to provide other services related to website activity and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where third parties process this data on Google’s behalf.

Google declares that they will in no case link your IP address with other Google data. You can prevent cookies from being installed by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser; however, please note that if you do so, you may not be able to use all functions of our website.

Furthermore, Google offers a deactivation add-on for the most common browsers that gives you more control over which data Google collects about the websites you visit. The add-on informs the Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js) that no information about your website visit is to be transmitted to Google Analytics. However, the Google Analytics deactivation add-on for browsers does not prevent information from being transmitted to us or to other web analytics services we might use. For information on installing the browser add-on, please go to:  https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de

If you visit our website using a mobile device (smartphone or tablet), you must click this link instead to prevent future tracking by Google Analytics within this website. This is also available as an alternative to the above browser add-on. Clicking this link will place an opt-out cookie in your browser that is only valid for this browser and this domain. If you delete the cookies in this browser, the opt-out cookie will also be deleted, so you will need to click the link again.

If you have consented to Google linking your web and app browsing history to your Google Account and using information from your Google Account to personalize ads, Google will use your data together with Google Analytics data to compile target group lists for cross-device remarketing. Google Analytics will first collect your Google-authenticated ID on our website, which is linked to your Google Account (i.e., personal data). Google Analytics then temporarily links your ID to your Google Analytics data to optimize our target groups.

If you do not agree to this, you may deactivate it by selecting the corresponding settings in the “My Account” section of your Google Account.

Automatically stored non-personal data
When you visit our website, we store certain information for administrative and technical reasons. These include the type and version of the browser used, the date and time of access, and your IP address. This data is anonymized and used solely for statistical purposes or to improve our internet and online services. This anonymized data will be stored separately from personal data on secure systems and cannot be assigned to individual persons. Your personal data will thus be protected at all times.

Online job application
The application data you submit to us will be collected and processed electronically by us for the purpose of processing the application process. This information includes, in particular, all data you enter, as well as your application as such and the data it contains. If your application results in an employment contract, we may store the data you submit in your personnel file for the purposes of our usual organizational and administrative processes, in compliance with the relevant legal regulations. If your application is unsuccessful, the data you have submitted will be automatically deleted two months after we have informed you thereof. This does not apply if longer retention periods are legally required (e.g., the burden of proof under the General Equal Treatment Act) or if you have expressly consented to longer storage in our database of prospective candidates

Security
We have taken technical and administrative security measures to protect your personal data against loss, destruction, manipulation, and unauthorized access. All our employees and service providers working for us are obliged to comply with applicable data protection laws.

Whenever we collect and process personal data, it will be encrypted before transmission. Your data can thus not be misused by third parties. Our security measures are subject to an ongoing improvement process, and our privacy policies are constantly being revised. Please ensure that you have the latest version.

How Facebook uses data from visits to Facebook pages for its own purposes, to what extent activities on the Facebook page can be attributed to individual users, how long Facebook stores this data, and whether data relating to a visit to the Facebook page is shared with third parties is not conclusively and clearly stated by Facebook, and is unknown to us.

When you access a Facebook page, the IP address assigned to your device is transmitted to Facebook. According to Facebook, this IP address is anonymized (for “German” IP addresses). Facebook also stores information about its users’ devices (e.g., as part of the function “Login Notification”); this may enable Facebook to attribute IP addresses to individual users.

When you are logged in to Facebook as a user, a cookie with your Facebook ID will be stored on your device. This allows Facebook to track that you have accessed this page and how you have used it. This also applies to all other Facebook pages. Facebook buttons embedded in websites allow Facebook to track your visits to these websites and link them to your Facebook profile. Based on this data, content or ads can be tailored to you.

If you want to avoid this, you should log out of Facebook or deactivate the “Remember me” function, delete the cookies on your device, and close and restart your browser. This will delete Facebook information that can be used to directly identify you. This allows you to use our Facebook page without revealing your Facebook ID. If you access interactive features on the page (like, comment, share, news, etc.), a Facebook login interface will appear. After logging in, you will be identifiable again to Facebook as a specific user.

Information on how you can manage or delete information about you can be found on the following Facebook support pages: facebook.com/about/privacy

As provider of the information service, we do not collect or process any other data derived from your use of our service.

The latest version of this Privacy Policy is available in the “Data Protection” section on our Facebook page.
